We at Plasmacow like to think of ourselves as a group of forward-thinking programmers, dedicated to the advancement and accessibility of information systems. Our experience (which includes systems administration, programming and website development just to name a few), can help your business or organization find the exact solution you need. We are followers and promoters of the GNU philosophy. We use GNU type free software and are especially fond of the GNU/Linux system. Open source software like GNU/Linux has many advantages over proprietary software, some of which are:

• Stability
• Rapid bug identification
• Rapid development
• Usefulness
• Most are free (we believe being free is important)

We are among a growing group of programmers who understand that there are much cheaper (and nearly almost much better) ways of programming than those offered by large software companies. These companies typically charge upwards of $10,000, just for the server software required to run your company's database or website. The same type of software available from the GNU community is not only free, but also much more stable.

GNU software is literally licensed to everyone. In other words, no one person or company has any more right to the software than any other. This means that there can be no sofware giant like Microsoft or Sun claiming the code and exploiting it for corporate profit. Many GNU programs are also OSS (Open Source Software), in which the original programming code is open to the worldwide community. This leads to rapid development of the source-code, contributing to the software's performance, reliability, and set of features.

We at Plasmacow also plan to offer a collection of resources devoted to the open-source programmer. As GNU/OSS programmers, we are happy to share our programming knowledge with others, in the hope of advancing and de-monopolizing the world's information systems.
